Software and solutions provider Crimson Tide says it can enable cleaning and FM companies to audit their operations using a single handheld device for zero upfront cost.

Forms are customised for every single customer and site, and are pushed out to the smartphone over the mobile phone network. According to the company, systems are very easy to use and are based upon the latest smartphones, such as the Palm Treo, which can receive mobile email, take pictures and make and receive standard calls. So the auditor receives a form precisely tailored to their application, can fill it out on the PDA in real time, and email back to HQ or to the client as required.

Alongside simplicity, another major attraction is cost, according to Crimson Tide. The company provides the smartphone, software online hosting and all services on a monthly subscription – and even handles the connection to the mobile network though its partnerships with Orange, O2 and Vodafone.

The company has just achieved Microsoft Gold Partner Status.
