UK Cleaning Services firms see values increase
September 28th 2006

Good news from analysts Plimsoll Publishing: UK cleaning services firms are seeing their values rise. Over the last four years 64 of the UK’s largest 100 cleaning services companies have seen their values rise by over 25 per cent. However, the remaining 36 have seen values fall – on average by -20 per cent.

Of those 36 firms, the report says eight have seen their values plummet by 50 per cent. Report author David Pattison says this makes them prime targets for acquisitive rivals.

“There are eight companies that really stand out in the analysis for their classic acquisition potential,” says Pattison. “Blatantly undervalued, they have the potential to double in value, if staff costs, debts and other expenses are brought under better control. These companies are likely to attract interest from private equity predators as well as industry buyers amongst the 100 largest companies.”

However, the analysis offers some encouragement for all 100 companies by advising how they could increase in value. Pattison says the strategies each should adopt to deliver maximum returns are laid out in the publication, which is aimed primarily at the non-accountant.
