Reach & Wash abusers face punishment
October 30th 2006

After recently receiving both CE mark approval and registered trademark status, Ionic Systems has issued a warning to companies passing off alternative products as Reach & Wash. According to Ionics boss Craig Mawlam, a number of Ionic's customers have complained about such practises – and supplied details of the offenders to Ionic Systems, whose London-based trademark attourneys will soon be calling. Ionics says abuse of its trademark will not be tolerated.

On a slightly lighter note, Mawlam says that the CE Mark confirms the company's committment to safety. "Since launching the sysem in 1997 we have seen the principle of enhanced safety eroded by any number of copycat systems that sacrifice quality and safety in order to be this month's cheapest offering in the race to zero."

CE marking provides a level playing field for product safety requirements across the European Community by ensuring products conform to a strict set of standards. Effectively, this removes barriers to trade throughout the region, as CE-approved products automatically meet local requirements.

Ionics says it will unveil its latest development, currently under wraps, at the NEC Cleaning Show 2007.
