Getting wipes right
October 30th 2006

Kimberly-Clark Professional says it has a range of wipes to meet any given cleaning need.

For general wiping tasks, KCP's WYPALL X Cloths – made from fast absorbing HYDROKNIT Material – are manufactuered using jets of water to bond soft absorbant paper fibres to extra strong polypropylene non-woven fabric, which the company says results in longer-lasting, economical cleaning and wiping.

In laboratory environments, a wiper is required to clean and wipe delicate surfaces such as lenses, slides and delicate instruments. In order not to damage these delicate surfaces the wiper will need to be soft and low linting, such as the KIMTECH* Science Wipers that provide high absorbency and a softer feel.

Where chemicals and solvents are involved a wiper will need to remain inert and not breakdown, whilst still absorbing efficiently: KIMTECH* Prep Process Wipers are the ideal choice here, claims KCP. Also designed for pre and post paint applications, these strong low linting wipers have been developed for repeat use cleaning.

For special tasks and clean manufacturing areas KIMTECH* Pure Critical Task wipers offer several features that make them suitable for this environment: they are thermally bonded with no adhesives or binders, have straight, clean knife cut edges, and can be autoclaved and ETO sterilised.
