Further cleaning services consolidation June 30th 2006 Two hundred and forty four of the UK's top 1500 cleaning services companies are facing failure according to a recent study conducted by Plimsoll Publishing.
The company's analysis of these firm's financial results leads it to rate 244 companies in "danger". Suffering from low and declining margins and uncontrolled rising debts, Plimsoll says their position is now so serious that even normal business decisions are becoming constrained.
"The simple message is change or risk failure," says senior analyst David Pattison. "At these high risk companies, the managers need to act quickly to get their firms back on a decent financial footing.
"It seems inevitable that we will see a period of consolidation. Job losses and cost cutting are essential if these companies are to survive. I would not rule out a series of take overs - most of these companies are unaware of how exposed to acquisition they are."
The analysis is aimed at non-financial managers that need to be aware of changes in the financial performance of Cleaning Services companies, whether they are customers, competitors or suppliers.
