Royal recognition for 88 year old cleaner
February 14th 2006 MacLellan employee Ivan Haye Da Costa has received an MBE in the Queen’s New Year’s honours list.
The 88 year old retired at Christmas after 20 years service at the MOD in Whitehall where MacLellan provides cleaning services. Contract manager at the site, Robert Hodge, says Ivan deserves the recognition; “He was an excellent worker, highly regarded by our client and loved by all who worked with him. He’s a very special individual.”
Ivan however, is modest about his achievements. “I am very excited to become an MBE,” he says. “I shouldn’t say that I deserve such an award but I’ve been given it – so I’ll be delighted to accept it.” More articles from MacLellan International Limited: |
