Cleaning training for teens – your help needed
February 14th 2006

Asset Skills, the Sector Skills Council for the cleaning sector is currently consulting with senior managers across the sector on the design and structure of a new type of vocational qualification for 14-19 year olds - and wants your help.

With a specific diploma for the construction and built environment - of which cleaning is a key component - organisations have the opportunity to become involved with the consultation period, ensuring the right level of skills are built into the diploma ready for launch in 2008. Feedback from employers on this vital first stage of consultation s required by 31 March. Those wishing to participate are asked to contact David Bell on 01604 233336, or email: dbell@assetskills.org, or log onto www.cbediploma.co.uk to complete the questionnaire online.

The Construction and Built Environment diploma will consist of three levels:

Level 1 is comparable in terms of average length of study to a programme of four to five GCSEs; Level 2 to a programme of five to six GCSEs; Level 3 is comparable to a programme of three A Levels.
