WoolSafe goes green
April 1st 2007

The Woolsafe Organisation has developed a new initiative that will help carpet cleaners minimise their impact on the environment. The Green WoolSafe Mark will put the ‘environmentally preferable seal on WoolSafe approved products that meet stringent ‘green’criteria.

The Organisation has signed an agreement with environmental standards companies Green Seal in the USA and Environmental Choice/EcoLogo, Canada, that will allow WoolSafe chemical licensees to submit one or more products for evaluation. Any product that is submitted will first need to have passed the cleaning and maintenance performance requirements as set out by The WoolSafe Organisation.

The environmental standards companies will then evaluate the cleaning agents to ensure that they are up to Green Seal Standard GS-37 or Environmental Choice certification criteria CCD-148 before issuing a test report and appropriate certificates and granting the use of the Green Seal or EcoLogo marks on all packaging and associated literature.

WoolSafe will take the certificates as evidence that the tested product is up to being awarded the Green WoolSafe Mark. t: 01943 850817 for further info
