Maintenance staff are impressed with OCS Technical's access solution in Regent Street

OCS Technical recently designed, manufactured and installed a tailor-made solution to access the exterior and atrium at The Crown Estate's new development in Regent Street as part of a brand new contract with property developer and project manager, Stanhope PLC.

The company has provided a two-part access solution to enable cleaning and maintenance work to be carried out safely. It has supplied a Building Maintenance Unit with a 17.5m telescopic jib onto the roof of the development - and says site staff found it so impressive they have nick-named it 'Supergun'. The unit can be used to suspend a two-man cradle, also provided by OCS, to access all four elevations. To access the atrium, a tailor-made gantry has been installed - this has been designed to match the cladding so that it can be stored out of site when not in use.

OCS designed the solution in line with Stanhope's promise to deliver projects that consider local needs and reduce disruption. The full and easy access to the exterior, provided by the BMU, ensures that building cleaning and maintenance can be carried out smoothly and efficiently.

"Over a number of years the team at OCS Technical has demonstrated a culture of continued improvement, concern for the environment and an excellent team spirit," says a Stanhope spokesperson. "They have considerable experience, which provides them with a vast amount of practical knowledge and best practise examples from a wide variety of projects. I am delighted with what they have delivered for us."
