100 free BSC examinations
February 1st 2009

Accredited by the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator in the National Qualifications Framework, the BSC Level 1 Certificate formalises health and safety induction training as a nationally recognised qualification.

This year the BSC is repeating its charitable offer to pay for up to 100 employees at each of its member firms to sit the examination leading to the certificate.

As part of the offer, the BSC provides free learning materials and examinations, so that the Level 1 Certificate rounds off basic health and safety training with a formal qualification.

Last year, over 30,000 employees gained a Level 1 Certificate thanks to the BSC’s offer, and one company that took full advantage was Ward Security in Rochester, Kent. The firm provides a comprehensive range of security services.

“Completing the Level 1 Certificate has helped raise the health and safety awareness of our staff and has also added strength to us as a company because our clients feel more confident knowing our staff have a good knowledge of health and safety,” says Natalie Ridger, associate director compliance.
