Controlled grip and oil repellence

Ansell Healthcare has launched the new HyFlex 11-920 glove, designed for people handling slightly oily metal components who need a secure grip for safety and performance. Microscopic channels in the glove coating guide away the oil and moisture resulting in a secure glove-to-surface contact. This technology was first integrated in the AlphaTec, a chemicalresistant glove offering a better wet/oily grip.Ansell has now successfully added this technology to a knitted liner resulting in the HyFlex 11-920. Centexbel tested the palm area of the glove as per the EN374-3 norm and compared the new HyFlex to four other gloves available on the market today.The HyFlex 11-920 proved to be resistant to n-hexane, with an Available from Bennett Safetywear, the Protex Ultra-Lite is a Level 5 cut-resistant glove that is suitable for use within the food, glass handling and medical industries.The company says the glove does not lint, is lightweight and that it achieves the highest blade-cut resistance rating afforded by the EN388 standard. Breathable and comfortable to wear, it can be laundered to 80°C. Latest versions include a glove with a blue,water-resistant leather palm that provides good grip, and an ambidextrous sleeve, 33cm in length, with thumb-hole. average breakthrough time of 150 minutes, compared to less than five minutes for the other four gloves. For sulphuric acid (95%), the HyFlex 11-920 breakthrough time was 135 minutes, whereas the same substance broke through immediately with all the other gloves tested.
