Deep cleaning for healthcare areas
August 1st 2008

The iDCS specialised hospital and healthcare deep cleaning service from City & Kent Cleaning was recently used to deep clean clinics and wards for the Mid- Essex Primary Care Trust. The aim was "to take the hassle out of an extremely pressured group of medical areas," says Jean Glasspool, business development director at City & Kent. This included on one occasion, cleaning in two maternity clinics, while the units were still running.

Intensive deep cleans were carried out at three wards and nine other departments. The majority of the work was carried out overnight or at weekends so as not interrupt its clinical services. All areas, beds and surrounding curtains, are steam decontaminated, as are trolleys, fans and wheelchairs.Additional iDCS services include air management to prevent microorganisms spreading infection; ultrasonic equipment cleaning; zone control matting and overshoe protection.
