Microfibre trolley replaces mops October 1st 2008 JohnsonDiversey says its Jonmaster trolley system removes dust, dirt and bacteria
from large areas more effectively than traditional methods
Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton has recently introduced the
Jonmaster ultra microfibre trolley system from
JohnsonDiversey as part of its ongoing programme to
reduce and control hospital infections. After the current rollout is
complete Jonmaster trolleys will be used on each of the hospital's 30
wards and four major departments for daily cleaning tasks replacing
a traditional mop and bucket approach.
"This is an exciting development for us and we are really
impressed by Jonmaster," says Wendy Sims, hotel services manager at
Musgrove Park Hospital."Cleaners no longer need to use chemicals or
hot water when they clean as the cloths are designed to be used
when just damp. They work by drawing germs directly into the cloth
which are then trapped and killed when laundered."
The hospital, which is part of Taunton & Somerset NHS Foundation
Trust, is the largest general hospital in the county, providing a full
range of in-patient and out-patient services. It selected Jonmaster
after a thorough evaluation during a sixmonth
trial involving three competing
products.
JohnsonDiversey says the hospital was
impressed by the ultra micro fibre's proven
ability to clean hard surfaces without
chemicals. It says trials showed Jonmaster
was popular among staff and easy to use and
this led to the decision to invest approximately £55,000 in the system.
The ergonomic Jonmaster system is a complete set of high
performance tools designed to maximise floor and hard surface
cleaning. The patented ultra microfibre cloth eliminates chemicals to
reduce the overall cost and environmental impact of cleaning. Ultra
microfibre cloths can be used dry or with water alone for effective
cleaning with reduced physical
demands. More articles from JohnsonDiversey Equipment Ltd: |
