Cloth with a silver lining October 1st 2008 Robert Scott's new range of
Nano Microfibre incorporates
silver.Naturally anti-bacterial, the
treatment is one solution for
stopping the spread of hospital
superbugs.The Nano Microfibre
will be added to its range of mops
and cloths, and will be available
to the hospital and healthcare
sector, at end of this year.
Silver has been used for
centuries as a broad spectrum
anti-bacterial substance in
medicine. It is non toxic, non
allergic and a powerful, natural
antibiotic.
"Bacteria, fungi and other
micro-organisms can degrade
mops and cloths, causing stains in
floors, tables and other surfaces,
dramatically shortening the life of
fabrics which are permanently
exposed to a bacterial
environment,"explains Kelly Fallas,
medical business sales manager.
"Robert Scott's Nano Microfibre
range, which incorporates a silver
anti-microbial treatment, is
naturally anti-bacterial.The
treatment has been proved to be
successful in combating MRSA –
the hospital 'Superbug'.
"The Nano Microfibre ensures
bacteria does not spread from the
infected area while being cleaned,
attracts no after smells and can be
washed up to 200 times without
losing its effectiveness. It is
environmentally sound in that the
mops and cloths can be used
without the need for
disinfectants." More articles from Robert Scott & Sons Ltd: |
