Cool touch for safer hospitals
October 1st 2010

Safetherm, the new thermostatic mixer tap for healthcare from Rada features 'Insutech+ Technology', which reduces surface temperatures on the hot inlet to a safe level. This answers growing health sector concerns about accidental contact burns, particularly of children and the elderly.

The sequential, single lever thermostatic mixer tap has been designed with ease of use as a key consideration. It is easy to operate under hospital protocols, with a maximum 120° travel. It is simple to use using the elbow to prevent cross infection, while delivering a full range of water temperatures.

Safetherm is also fully compliant with technical guidelines laid out in HTM64 and meets the D08 performance standard – as required by legislation in NHS hospitals. To further decrease the risk of Hospital Environment Contamination, the design eliminates unnecessary internal spaces and detail that could house standing water when a tap is not in use.

The tap's integral thermostat manages temperature at point of delivery so that the user does not risk scalding, while allowing higher 'upstream' temperatures to be applied to reduce the risk of legionella.

Robust, and easy to install and maintain, the Safetherm is available in panel or deck mounting configurations.
