No flush but still so fresh
October 1st 2008 A gents urinal flushes on average
six times an hour to keep urine
flowing through pipes and
reduce smells.This equates to
236,520 litres of water/yr. The
Envirokube launched by Bio8, is a
toilet block that contains billions
of naturally occurring friendly
bacteria whose food source is
urine. It sits in the urinals and
works without water.
"Even the most
environmentally aware have
been forced into compromising
their principles in the face of

compared to using chemical
alternatives can be put under
pressure, as 'green' is unfairly
associated with 'expensive'.
"We looked at the products
currently in the marketplace, their
costs, performance in terms of
microbial activity, problems and
issues with blockages and odours
and knew we could provide a
better performing product that
would not cost the earth."
The Envirokube delivers
multiple, rather than single
strains of friendly bacteria in a
simple manner. Bio8 believes it
delivers over 16 times the
cleaning power per week
compared to some waterless
sleeves, and over six times the
cleaning power per week of
other waterless toilet blocks for
