Sustainability initiative to foster greener cleaning
October 1st 2007

Procter & Gamble has joined sustainability experts – the Energy Saving Trust,Waterwise, Waste Watch and Global Cool – to form Future Friendly,a partnership created to promote energy and water efficient products and reduce waste.

P&G Professional products will feature the Future Friendly logo on packaging."The Future Friendly initiative will help contractors and operatives make the right product choices to put in place simple everyday changes that will contribute to making their businesses more sustainable,"says P&G Professional Country Director,Mat Baker. He added that his own firm's products, such as Ariel Hygiene Expert laundry products, kill germs including MRSA at 40°C, saving energy over traditional high temperature methods.

According to Baker, the Future Friendly launch report predicts that 'green'behaviour will become 'the norm'within the next 20 years, and businesses have to be in tune with this change of lifestyle. "Therefore the restaurant or hotel that can display strong 'green'credentials will have the upper hand over competitors who can not,"says Baker.
