It's goodbye to graffiti and good riddance to gum December 1st 2008 Demon's new range of equipment tackles graffiti and gum removal quietly and
effectively, providing easy cleaning of hard to reach areas
Graffiti is now a frequent fact of everyday life in most towns and
cities across the country. A very visible nuisance that
contributes to the greater picture of environmental crime that
ruins our city centres and open spaces.Contract cleaners, property
and facilities managers are always looking at ways to remove graffiti
quickly and effectively and Demon says it can help with a complete
package for graffiti and
chewing gum removal.
The EMIS (Environmental
Media Injection System)
not only provides the
solutions and equipment
for the removal of
substances and spray, but
Demon will provide
nationwide
demonstrations and
training to personnel on
how to use the system
correctly.
The main focus of the
new range is noise
reduction to enable
cleaning in the morning
and evenings where
traditional models would create noise nuisance.Demon understood
from its clients that they needed a machine which could be used in
variety of public places, from a busy shopping mall on a Saturday
morning to a cycle path in the country and so the company designed
the equipment accordingly.
The Typhoon Evolution Hot Water Pressure Washer is powered by a
twin cylinder Isuzu engine running at 2100rpm and features a
custom built silencer – more commonly found fitted to cars than
industrial engines.
St Helens Council is one of many Local Authorities across the
Country who are benefiting from the Demon system."The traditional
reaction from residents when they hear about graffiti is to imagine
large areas covered with spray painted tags and 'street art'.Thankfully
this is not a major problem in St Helens and a lot of the historical
graffiti has been removed in the past few years," says Brian Malcolm,
environmental care services manager at St Helens. The team at St
Helens have a Typhoon Evolution to tackle the graffiti areas and use
this alongside the Armex Bicarbonate of soda blast media. The
soluble blast media and pressure washing mean very minimal clean
up after effective removal. The system works well with either hot or
cold water pressure washing giving the contractor greater flexibility.
"The Evolution is much
better than our previous
pressure removal
equipment. It is quieter and
the adjustable pressure
means we can remove
graffiti more effectively
from a wider range of
surfaces," explains Malcolm.
"The option of a hot wash
also allows us to use less
cleaning media and less
water."
The advantage that the
Evolution provides for
graffiti removal is its ability
to work continuously for
over an hour away from a water source which is extremely useful
when the operative is in a remote or isolated area.Overall,Demon
says St Helens has found the equipment to be more cost effective
and less time consuming than previous solutions.
Demon has also launched the Tornado Mini Bowser, a small
portable pressure washer which is a solution for hard to reach areas
of cleaning – especially graffiti removal. "While working with many
contractors across the UK who offer graffiti and gum removal,we
found that most of them struggled to find the right equipment to
use in narrow walkways or away from a water supply," says Keith
Woodward, sales director at Demon."The Mini Bowser provides up to
15 minutes of washing time away from source and tackles smaller
removal jobs quickly and efficiently with the correct Democlean
products."
Demon also provides equipment to tackle chewing gum. Its
removal tool can be used with hot or cold water and is kinder to
delicate substrates. 18 micro jets are focused onto the gum and the
gentle action peels the gum off the floor.Using hot water enables
quicker removal than cold water.
Demon is currently demonstrating its range of equipment across
the country, providing the means
to tackle street cleansing in the UK. More articles from Demon International Ltd: |
