Key role in Council clean-up
June 1st 2007

Darlington Borough Council has launched an initiative called Street Scene that is aimed at modernising its cleaning operation. As part of the scheme it needed a machine that would leave roads and pavements clean and stain-free and that would be able to withstand a rigorous workload.

The Aquazura from Euromec combines scrubbing and suction to produce a high standard of cleaning. Five independently suspended brushes in a frontmounted scrubbing head scrub the road or pavement using a waterbased cleaning solution sprayed onto the surface by nozzles in the scrubbing head.

As the machine advances, litter and waste water is pushed into its path by the cleaning action of the brushes. A large squeegee with a 250mm suction tube collects waste water and debris and deposits it in the Aquazura's waste water recovery tank for disposal or recycling, ensuring the road or pavement is left dry as well as clean.
