Ergonomic design eases workload April 1st 2004 With the launch of the new Solaris, Truvox claims to have redefined the idea of what a scrubber/dryer can be and even how a floor should be cleaned. Drawing on a 43 year heritage innovating floor cleaning machines, the result is a scrubber/dryer whose ergonomic design eases the workload for contract cleaners.
A key attraction of the Solaris is its ability to save time and energy during cleaning. Where an experienced cleaner using traditional mopping might cover 150m2/h, even with minimal operator training, the Solaris can easily clean over three times more than a mop, leaving floors visibly cleaner after just one pass. User comfort has also been prioritised in the development of the Solaris. Whereas traditional mopping is tiring, physical work, the ergonomic and compact design of the Solaris ensures that it is light and easy to use. The handle also adjusts to all user heights while easy-roll wheels and a central castor make the machine supremely easy to manoeuvre.
Designed to clean any hard floor type, the Solaris cleaning performance results from its high pressure 10cm cylindrical brush. This runs at 750rpm and is remarkably effective at cleaning even non-slip, safety or textured floors. A choice of easily interchangeable brushes is available for use on different floor types and levels of soiling.
Mopping leaves the floor damp. Damp floors re-attract dirt very quickly, and can be slippery. A floor that is left dry immediately after cleaning will stay cleaner longer and is safe to walk on. During pre-launch testing, users praised the fact that the new Solaris left the floor completely dry. This is achieved thanks to the Truvox machines twin squeegees, which collect solution going forwards or backwards, and its powerful vacuum motor.
Simplicity of operation is guaranteed with clear pictograms and intuitive controls used throughout. For example the direct response solution control lever means only as much solution as needed is used resulting in higher productivity with a greater floor area cleaned per tank-full. The inclusion of a separate vacuum switch also means exceptionally dirty floors can be double scrubbed.
Easily removed recovery and solution tanks make it easy to keep the machine hygienically clean. Both tanks have a 15 litre capacity which helps the Solaris remain a compact size, but allows over 300m2 to be cleaned before you need to refill or empty the tanks. Large openings on the tanks make for easy filling and emptying while a clear inlet dome means that the user can see dirty solution as it is being collected.
The machine has reliability with tried and tested components used throughout; rotationally moulded tanks that will not split, crack or rust; as well as key components
cleverly protected. More articles from Truvox International Ltd: |
