Approved supplier for scrubber and sweepers

Hako UK has become MITIE Cleaning's approved supplier for all sweepers and scrubber driers, a status which was granted after one of the toughest and most comprehensive tender processes in the UK support service industry

MITIE is one of the UK's leading support services companies, maintaining, managing and improving buildings and infrastructure for a wide range of private and public sector customers. MITIE currently employs around 29 000 people in the UK.

Roy Cole, purchasing specialist at MITIE Cleaning explained, "Two years ago we issued an exhaustive tender to 22 companies for supply of our core range of floor cleaning machines. This examined all aspects of service and performance including financial status, account management, machine performance, productivity, service and pricing. Sweepers and scrubber driers are our biggest spend items of machinery - some machines are more expensive than a family car - and following the tender process we decided that Hako had the best offering for these categories".

Service support is critical to MITIE and Hako proved to have the best market presence, with national coverage and short lead times for service engineers to arrive on-site. All machines are supplied with a service contract, with cover from Scotland to the south coast of England.

Over the next three years Hako will be supplying a range of its high performance machines to MITIE including the popular Hakomatic B750R compact ride on scrubber-drier and Jonas 980 compact ride on sweeping machine

"We are now six months into our supply agreement with Hako and we have been more than happy with the machines, the full operator training and the after sales support", continued Roy.
