Shining at school
August 1st 2010

Cleaning with Vikan ErgoClean ultramicrofibre cloths and mops leads to vastly improved cleaning results, financial savings, a happier workforce and a healthier environment, says the domestic manager of Giggleswick, a leading UK coeducational boarding school.

The public school has 600 pupils and seven boarding houses. With many issues to contend with, the domestic manager was encouraged to trial the ultramicrofibre system. The results spoke for themselves. So it was an end to chemicals (apart from toilet cleaners) as the entire cleaning operation was turned over to ultramicrofibres.

Without chemicals, surfaces not only stay cleaner longer but actually shine, says the company. Cleaning times were reduced, lugging chemicals and buckets up and down stairs came to an end and valuable storage space was reallocated.

It is estimated that savings on chemicals amount to several hundreds of pounds per year. And the school's medical team has identified a considerable drop in the number of breathing complaints since the system was introduced.
