No more slippery when wet
December 1st 2011

Multiple rolls of Vynagrip slip resistant mats have been installed throughout the Royal Horticultural Society's Glasshouse Nurseries at RHS Wisley. The high performance safety mat is manufactured in the UK by Plastic Extruders.

Four large glasshouses grow all the plants for the displays.Cheap rubber mat had been used previously but had become slippery due to the heat, humidity and large quantities of water needed for nurturing the tropical plants. As a result, the surface was no longer safe for nursery staff and the public who take part in guided tours. Vynagrip's high profile section enables the mat to straddle standing water while its aggressive and deep etched surface provides an effective slip resistant surface, even when wet.The open grid construction encourages quick dispersal of water and is also resistant to mould, algae and oils.
