Cleaned and restored
August 1st 2003 Granwax Products, a leading manufacturer of finishes and seals, cleaned and restored the sports floor at Chadderton High School in Greater Manchester with the help of the Oldham Borough Council Cleaning Team.
The floor was a slip hazard and black in places from years of applying different seals and polishes. The local authority wanted to save money by doing the job in house, and took advantage of Granwaxs free onsite advice on how to restore the 230 sq metres maple strip floor to its original natural wood colour.
The first task was to train the cleaning team to sand the floor starting with a 24 and finishing with an 80-grade paper. The final stage was to protect the floor with Granwax 2 Pack Masterfinish Silk, a fast-drying water-based polyurethane finish offering durability, UV stability and slip resistance.
