Matting matters millions August 1st 2008 A matting supplier claims unfit floor matting is costing retailers and the public sector
millions of pounds. But it needn't be that way...
Worn, torn and unfixed floor matting is costing retailers and
the public sector millions of pounds unnecessarily,
according to Ben Colbourne,Director of fixed matting
specialist, Gripfit.
In response to a major fast food outlet's problem of a slippery
floor, with a rucked loose layed mat at the entrance areas, Colbourne
set about designing the revolutionary Gripfit fixed aluminium frame
system.
"Slips, trips and falls on flooring and matting are the most
common accident hazard in public areas," says Colbourne."They cost
companies millions of pounds in litigation claims each year yet it's
one of the easiest areas to rectify simpy by fixing matting securely in
place in entrances and around high slip areas with our Gripfit system".
The hidden cost of inferior matting also includes deterring buggy
and wheelchair users and the less able from entering areas where
uneven entrance areas impede entry.
Gripfit is a low profile, aluminium, fixed matting system, that can
be installed on any hard, level surface, to clamp mats from 5.5mm –
12.5mm in thickness securely in place. The system can be supplied as
fixed lengths of profiles with a corner joins, and is easily removable
using a bespoke tool, for laundering and maintenance.
Gripfit complies to BS8300 legislation, Disabled and Disability
guidelines and the Health & Safety at Work Act (1974), and can easily
be installed without the need to dig
a disruptive or expensive mat well. More articles from Gripfit Ltd: |
