Spreading the code word February 1st 2009 The Cleaning Show sees the official launch of NCCA Code of Practice. It aims to raise
trade standards and create client confidence in those who uphold it
The National Carpet Cleaners
Association will officially
launch the PAS 86 Code of
Practice (Publicly Available
Specification) at the Cleaning
Show this year.
The new code of practice has
been developed by the NCCA and
BSI British Standards in association
with a range of industry experts,
and expectations are that it will
become an industry standard
publication for carpet cleaning
technicians.
The PAS covers the professional inspection, maintenance, cleaning
and restoration of textile floor coverings and claims to be the only
code of practice available for these trades.
The new code of practice will not only help raise standards within
the trade, it also aims to help those that follow the new cleaning
standards to win more business and stay one step ahead of the
competition. The NCCA says both residential and commercial
customers will be able to
confidently select a contractor
working to the PAS 86 code of
practice, safe in the knowledge that
a quality service will be delivered.
"This code of practice sets the standards for our cleaning
businesses as well as being a prominent marketing tool in these
recessionary times," states June Frankum,NCCA president (pictured).
"The PAS will be reviewed at intervals not exceeding two years, and
any amendments arising from the review will be published as an
amended PAS."
The NCCA intends to create mass awareness of the new code and
has appointed a PR professional to undertake a planned PR
campaign. The NCCA believes that in the future, businesses and
residential customers will only consider professionals who work to
PAS 86.
The PAS 86 is already available for purchase direct from the NCCA.
NCCA directors and staff will be on hand throughout the Cleaning
Show to answer queries about the PAS86, the association's work,
membership benefits or its specialist
training courses. Stand G56 More articles from National Carpet Cleaners Association: |
