April 1st 2007 From humble beginnings in a garden shed 10 years ago,Martin and Debbie Beanlands have just won the Chem-Dry International Sub Franchise of the Year 2007 What a 12 months it has proved for husband and wife team Martin and Debbie Beanlands and the White Rose Chem-Dry team.They have just been awarded the 'Chem-Dry International Sub Franchise of the Year 2007' held recently at the glittering international convention in Nashville, USA. This achievement follows on from finishing runner up at the prestigious 2006 British Franchise Association Awards and being crowned UK Chem-Dry Franchise of the Year earlier the same year. It has been a meteoric raise for the husband and wife team business from Ilkley,West Yorkshire, who initially launched their carpet and upholstery cleaning franchise from their garden shed and back bedroom in 1997. The business has since grown to a £1million turnover, operating out of a new 10,000ft 2 purpose built industrial unit servicing 8 licence areas throughout Yorkshire and Lancashire. The White Rose Chem-Dry business model is a benchmark and an inspiration for not just UK based Chem-Dry franchise operations, but other franchise operations too.Martin and Debbie have been able to use their strong background in project management and the military to develop smooth workflows, process management and a solid business plan. All worldwide Chem-Dry Master Franchises were invited to participate, by nominating a franchise to represent their country at the awards.These awards are always keenly fought and this year proved no different.White Rose Chem-Dry faced stiff opposition from various other international nominees and they are the deserved recipient of trophy in recognition of their endeavours.
