Piling on the pressure – a commercial range of vacuums February 1st 2005 Dowding and Plummer has targeted the needs of commercial users to provide a range of vacuum cleaners with assets that can aid efficient cleaning of large and busy floor areas
Carpet cleaning in a commercial environment needs to be much more effective as soil becomes embedded in the pile with the constant traffic.Commercial vacuum cleaners are designed to be more powerful in lifting out the built-up surface grime.
The Victor V9 tub vacuum, designed and manufactured by Dowding & Plummer, is such a machine.Created purely for the commercial market, the V9 has HEPA filtration at 99.9965% fitted as standard and filters particles down to 0.3 microns in size, making it safe to use in sterile and confined areas.
With five wheels for extra mobility and sturdiness and weighing only 6kg, the V9 has a moulded handle to allow easy transportation and a cleaning range of 30 metres.
Nevill Furber, head of sales for Dowding & Plummer, explains:“The V9 was developed purely for the commercial environment, considering the needs of the professional contract cleaner. To develop this particular tub vacuum to the domestic or retail market would not only compromise the quality and the price, but the efficiency and overall effectiveness.” Another versatile machine is the Victor V-UCS Upright Vacuum with twin motors, a choice of brushes and a built-in hose and wand to offer the same benefits as a canister vacuum.
The twin motors allow the V-UCS to maintain a constant brush speed when used on carpet or a hard surface. This avoids the usual racing of the motor that normally occurs when changing surfaces that causes the dirt to be pushed along rather than gathered.
The V-UCS is a hard-working and durable machine that can be easily dismantled when emptying and comes with an extended hose, a result of a customer survey, to reduce any impact on the user.
While the V-UCS will keep carpets clean on a daily basis, the SX-15 is ideal for deep cleansing and cosmetic cleaning. This 15-litre capacity carpet cleaner agitates the carpet with its fully floating power brush before lifting the dirty water and residue. Working a in backwards motion, the SX-15 has a range of tools including a hose and wand for cleaning upholstery and a folding handle for easy storage.
Alan Foster, a cleaning specialist and training consultant for Dowding & Plummer, added:“The SX-15 has a stainless steel frame to ensure durability, eight inch non-marking wheels, and the usual brass fittings for the water jet have been replaced with toughened plastic to avoid corrosion. This has aided the SX-15 in becoming the most efficient and flexible carpet extraction machine available. It has also been developed to redirect the hot air from the motor away from the operator and onto the surface, helping the floor to dry quicker.” All of the machines are manufactured in the UK to internationally recognised standards and comply with the latest EU industry directives.
Each Victor floor maintenance product is supported by an extensive selection of accessories and has the full commitment of the aftersales team.
