Increasing productivity through ride-ons and walk-behinds
February 1st 2005

Nilfisk-Advance presented what it claimed were two industry firsts at last year’s Carpex with the BRX 700 ride-on sweeper/carpet extractor and the AX 650 walk-behind large area carpet extractor.

Cleaning Matters takes a closer look

The BRX 700 is claimed to be the first industrial, multi-tasking rideon machine, designed to sweep and extract in a single pass. With a wide 71cm cleaning path and 170 litre solution tank, productivity is increased by 400% compared to conventional cleaning methods. The dual rotating brushes leave the carpet with a ‘groomed’ appearance, and being able to clean so thoroughly on a regular basis – often considered too expensive and time-consuming using traditional equipment – also helps prolong the life of a carpet. The BRX 700’s tight turning radius ensures ease of use even in confined spaces. It also features a simple onetouch control panel and advanced ergonomic design to reduce user fatigue and increase efficiency.

The battery powered AX 650 – said to be Europe’s first walkbehind large area carpet extractor, offers an effective and timesaving alternative to sweeping, vacuuming and spot cleaning. Its dual-purpose capability enables interim cleaning (Maintenance mode) or deep cleaning (Restoration mode) of large floor areas with a single machine.Designed for use on flat or uneven surfaces, the new AX 650 carpet extractor has two self-levelling vacuum shoes and cleans right up to the wall courtesy of an extending brush deck.

Double scrub and auto reverse scrub functions ensure maximum cleaning performance with minimum effort. The brush, vacuum shoes and vacuum motors can all be removed without the use of special tools, while high capacity solution and recovery tanks mean operatives spend less time filling and emptying.

Karen James, sales and marketing director of Nilfisk- Advance comments,“These latest additions to our professional cleaning range represent a technological breakthrough in carpet maintenance and restoration.

They offer contract cleaners a really cost-effective solution, particularly in environments with large carpeted areas, such as offices, cinemas and airports.”
