Opportunity knocks for smart contractors
August 1st 2007

Hawker's new Enersys batteries are designed for cleaning machines.Producing up to 30% more power than competitors, they're partial to an opportunity charge and ready to go in under four hours

Alongisde more power density, the Powerbloc XFC Dry batteries also enable up to 80% depth of discharege to be recharged with a matching high frequency (HF) fast-charger in less than four hours.

Unlike traditional battery technology, Powerbloc dry units prefer charge to be topped up as and when convenient. Hawker says they are practically maintenance free and environmentally friendly with minimum gassing – making them suitable for use in shops, public areas and sensitive manufacturing locations.

When a vehicle is not in use its Powerbloc battery can be plugged into the HF charger for recharge making it ready for the next duty cycle.

As a result, the focus is on energy throughput rather than maximising battery capacity.

The Powerbloc XFC gas recombination range comprises a cell system constructed from special alloy thin grind plates. The electrolyte is absorbed in a microporous separator. This highly advanced 'pure lead' technology allows very fast charging and deep discharge. The specially engineered plates are ideally suited to electrical vehicle applications with mutli-shift operations.
