 Dehumidify come rain or shine
October 1st 2008

Broughton EAP's heavy-duty CR170 dehumidifier shifts over 150 litres of water per day, taking the knocks metered out by the hire industry and giving insurers something to smile about.Brendan Coyne reports

Broughton EAP is expecting a deluge of enquiries as soon as the clocks go back, traditionally when people realise heating equipment might be a good idea – a period possibly followed by the floods."Although you never can predict when the rain is going to fall," says sales manager Terry Brennan.

However, he says when the heavens inevitably open, bigger jobs requiring rapid results will benefit from Broughton's new CR170 dehumidifier.

"It's a robust, high volume unit that is constructed to take a kicking from the hire market," says Brennan."It's a brute of a machine, but also highly efficient, with an absolute daily maximum performance in excess of 150 litres – and in the mid range is over four times as efficient as a normal normal 50 litre unit." Brennan says large, rubber wheels make it suitable for building sites, alongside rubber-protected internal mountings and high quality welding, which enable the dual voltage 110v/230v unit to withstand the day-to-day knocks inherent to the trade.

Crucially, as far as insurers are concerned, it speeds the drying process, reducing the time taken to complete the restoration process.

"It's a direct response to our customer's own problems: to a man they are all under pressure from insurers to do jobs quicker." Whether last year's flood intensity was a freak occurrence or a sign of things to come, Brennan says the CR170 also serves the building trade."It helps helps plasterers and painters dry their work more quickly, so it makes sense for them to invest in it – time is money after all." With impeccable timing, Broughton's new website should be up and running by the time the clocks change. With current prices guaranteed until the end of the year, Brennan says contractors, hire firms and local councils – who could make substantial savings for their in-house requirements – should visit www.broughtoneap.com.
