Water suckers October 1st 2004 Launched at the British Damage Management Association convention in October 2003 Broughtons two new dehumidifiers are called, appropriately enough, the Big Water Sucker and the Little Water Sucker. Evolving from the 20 years experience Broughton has in the manufacture of dehumidifiers for the British climate, both models have an increased specification as well as increased performance.
The Big Water Sucker, which can extract up to 60 litres a day, is fitted with a powerful integral heater that should help to shorten drying times. Also, Broughton claim an industry first with the Big Water
Suckers ability to pump dry warm air into partitions, cupboards, and under floors as part of the drying process. The controls for the Big Water Sucker are now displayed prominently on the front of the machine along with the hour counter. With automatic pump-out fitted as standard, semi-soft Neoprene wheels to reduce impact should the unit be dropped, and a retractable ergonomically designed handle to facilitate portage the Big Water Sucker should make a big impact on the UKs fire & flood market this winter.
The Little Water Sucker, which can extract up to 28 litres a day, has been completely redesigned and now has all controls situated on a dashboard at the front of the unit, an hour counter fitted as standard and higher grade steel used in manufacture. Operating down to 5C the Little Water Sucker is a tough, compact and powerful a dehumidifier.
Finally with the attachment for the Powerblo, the 17 hose Hydra, now in full production, Broughton has begun manufacture of a smaller version of the Powerblo for areas where space is at a premium. Weighing in at just less than five kilos the Baby Powerblo is also quieter than its big brother yet still offers three speeds and 600cfm airflow from its tough roto-moulded case.
