Cool Customers the hire and sales specialists in portable air conditioning, dehumidfiers and heaters was purchased by Dave Matthews and David Newton in September 2001. Between them they have over 35 years experience and have developed Cool Customers into a major business in both the air conditioning and drying industry growing the business from 400 000 to 1.4 million in the 2 year period. They can also boast to have exclusive distributorships in the UK with Honeywell for their range of portable air conditioning units and Calorex for their range of Dehumidifiers. They have especially experienced growth in the fire and flood industry over the past 2 years.

They now have over 600 dehumidifiers all with hour clocks and 400 air movers in their hire fleet along with a number of desiccant dehumidifiers which are all available on a next day nationwide delivery service. Cool Customers only specialise in the fire, flood and restoration industry, which means they can offer the right equipment at the right price at the right time. Also, as part of their overall service they over a full repair

facility on all leading brands of dehumidifiers.

Dave Matthews states we are all aware of the focus on drying out times and the pressure to get the buildings dried out faster to be more cost effective, so we have decided along with Calorex to relaunch the range to indicate the maximum room volumes for typical fire and flood applications rather than machine extraction rates that can be misleading, as producers tend to quote maximums based on conditions only found in a Tropical Rain Forest rather than appropriate performances for actual applications. The three models for this coming season are the PortaDry 150, 300 and 600, which represents the maximum room volume i.e. 150 sq.m. and so on. These units are built with rotary compressors and their strong construction ensures they withstand the rigours of hire and transportation. All models are fitted standard with an hour run meter and have optional condensate pumps and humidistats.

All the Dehumidifiers have also been tested by independent testing houses as well being tested by BSRIA. He also states that a lot of companies that have hired the PortaDry range of Dehumidifiers have subsequently purchased them which speaks volumes for the product.
