Simple spreading solution February 1st 2008 A salt and sand spreader mounted on a trailer chassis has been bought by cleaning
and facilities management company, Cresswell, to keep Woking Borough Council's car
parks free from snow and ice
When required, Broadwood International's SnowEx SP-575
spreader is simply coupled to one of Cresswell's Renault
Traffic vans and is immediately ready for use. When gritting
has been completed, it is removed, and the vehicle returns to its
normal duties.
David McLeod, MD of Cresswell Services comments "We took over
the contract on the 29th January and it began snowing on the 28th.
The SnowEx does what it says on the tin. It is a great saver in
manpower and materials as the grit is spread evenly with excellent
spread density and area.We can also use the SnowEx with other
materials such as urea prills granules."
With its low-maintenance direct-drive system that requires no
belts, pulleys or chains, the SnowEx SP-575 spreader is simple but
effective. Its dual 12V DC motor combines maximum torque
transmission with reliability and, as with the full SnowEx range of
spreaders, the SP-575 can be attached to any vehicle with a 12V
supply.
With its polypropylene non-corrosive hopper, it is low weight and
can be installed and removed easily, freeing the vehicle to perform
multiple applications. The spreaders enable councils and subcontractors
to provide the public with ice-free walkways and car
parks for minimal outlay. An in-cabin controller enables safe, on-themove
adjustment of spreading width and application rates to suit
conditions. With SnowEx there is no danger to employees from
having to stop and adjust the
spreader on the road. More articles from Broadwood International: |
