Keep roads & drives snow free
December 1st 2006

Leeds Grammar School has found a cost effective way of keeping its driveways, roads, car parks and playgrounds clear of snow and ice during the winter months – using Broadwood International's SnowEx salt and sand spreader.

With a low maintenance, 12-volt direct drive system, the unit can be attached to any vehicle using various mounts. When snow or ice is forecast, school groundsman, Sheldon Bonner, attaches the SnowEx spreader to a 50hp tractor using a three point linkage and uses it to spread salt on the exposed areas. Once the weather clears, the unit is uncoupled and stored away – leaving the tractor free to be used for other work.

"We're delighted," says Bonner."It's better than anything else we've used and is very easy to connect and detach." Please note Broadwood's telephone number is 01794 388881. Last issue we published the wrong one.Apologies for any resulting inconvenience.
