A fitting kit for graffiti

Demon International has been manufacturing pressure washers for over 20 years. Its focus is on attention to detail and quality manufacturing, but customer input has also played a major role in the development of additional products to compliment its range of pressure washers.The resulting products include graffiti removal, soda blasting and driveway cleaning packages to name but a few – all of which,Demon says, were well received at the recent Cleaning Show.
During its customer research, Demon identified that key applications for the use of its industrial pressure washers included a high volume of cleaning businesses and local authorities needing to combat the growing problem of graffiti removal.
After looking extensively into the most effective products the Democlean range was introduced along with EMIS, the Environmental Media Injection System, as a complete graffiti removal solution. EMIS is designed to accurately dispense fine grade blast media such as Armex and improves cleaning of difficult surfaces where more aggressive cleaning is required,working in conjunction with the range of removal gels.
Demon now tailors packages to suit each companies’ requirements, one of the most popular being the Graffiti Instant Response Kit, which comes complete with an EMIS, a supply of Armex media, a Tornado Mini-Bowser – which provides a water supply for small jobs in hard to reach areas – and the graffiti removal gel.
Quick fix
Cannock Chase District Council in Staffordshire has recently taken delivery of the kit and is delighted with the results.“The reason we opted for the kit was the fact that it offered a quick and simple solution to our problems,” says Rhona Gudgin, street wardens manager for the council.“We have not been disappointed as it is easy to use and one person can easily operate it.The benefits are that we can quickly remove graffiti from larger areas and remove a variety of mediums from brick and stone work – something which was previously very difficult and time consuming for us to do.
“We always had to leave the more evident graffiti untouched, but with the Demon kit we can do the whole job.”
The graffiti response kit has also enabled the Cannock Chase to offer a service to private householders who don’t know where to go for graffiti removal so the benefits are evident across community.
“It’s the perfect solution as it provides everything for those just venturing into graffiti removal or those who are looking to invest in new equipment for this kind of work,” explains Keith Woodward, sales manager at Demon.“It has been very popular with councils who need to address ad-hoc graffiti jobs but is also versatile to use for a variety of other cleaning applications.”
Demon also manufactures the Typhoon Evolution, a trailer mounted hot water pressure washer which has been designed for use in public areas as it measures only 71dB at 7m.The Evolution provides a heavy duty industrial 2900 psi machine and carries 1000l of water. It claims to be one of the quietest pressure washers in Europe.
In addition to graffiti removal packages,Demon offers accessories for effective driveway cleaning including the Rotowash Professional. The company believes that many window cleaning companies want to diversify into this area and the Rotowash brings ‘new levels of cleanliness’ to floor cleaning. It works best with a 200 bar machine at 15l/min and can be used on all flat surfaces including pavements, driveways, pontoons and slipways.
