Screen for sound October 1st 2009 Casella has introduced the CEL- 242 and CEL-246 to the CEL-200 series of sound level meters. The new models can store time history onto an onboard memory capable of logging over 400,000 measurements.Data is stored as files compatible with spreadsheet software packages (.csv format) and can simply be transferred via USB then graphed as required with any standard package.
The range can display a nondecaying maximum hold value on a number of screens showing the A or C frequency weighting and slow, fast or Impulse time responses. The time history facility of the new models shows how the noise has fluctuated and allows users to understand at what point noise control measures are necessary. The equipment has a large, highresolution display which shows results numerically or by bar graph and can give a time history trace over the last one or five minute period. The simple, low cost meter is priced from £245+VAT.
