The quiet evolution
April 1st 2007

Westcountry-based pressure washer manufacturer,Demon, has a new range of pressure washers which it claims are the quietest available in Europe

Demon has recently launched a new range of towed hot water pressure washers.Based on the internationally acclaimed Typhoon range which is used Worldwide and has been sold for over 10 years, the new Typhoon Evolution range is designed for cleaning in noise sensitive areas.

With a noise rating of 71dB to 79dB depending on the model Demon claims these pressure washers are the quietest available in Europe. To achieve these low figures a completely novel design approach was needed. The superstructure is made from aluminium with twin 500 litre water tanks, which are further baffled with twin liners holding 250 litres each, this feature ensures noise is absorbed by the tanks. The 1000 litre capacity ensures uninterrupted operation for over 1 hour away from a water source.

The Evolution is operated with the covers closed, which also accounts for the low noise output. The water-cooled model features a marine heat exchanger, which uses the water from the storage tanks to cool the engine, improving efficiency and further reducing noise.Cooling is further enhanced by forced air extraction at a rate of 925 cubic metres of air per hour.

All the range operate at a standard 200 bar pressure and 15 litres per minute flow rate and can be fitted with the Rotowash rotary floor tool, Emis sodium bicarb blasting system, turbo lance and chewing gum tool. Also available is a range of graffiti removal products which when used in conjunction with the Evolution and all its accessories provide the complete solution to all public area cleaning tasks.

Recently shown at the Cleaning Show 2007 at the NEC in Birmingham, the Evolution range will also be on show at the CIWM show in Paignton,Devon in mid June. Several councils have already taken delivery of these innovative products including Islington and Cardiff as well as shopping centres and cleaning contractors. The demonstration model is currently touring the UK having been shown in Scotland and the North East to date.
