Keeping fleets fit for streets
April 1st 2007

Nilfisk-ALTO used April's Commercial Vehicle Show to highlight its range of stationary and mobile, hot and old water pressure washers

Smart, clean vehicles are good for the environment and the economy, says Nilfisk-ALTO. Handy then, that it has a range of powered cleaning solutions to help keep vehicles pristine.

Sales and marketing director, Karl Kingston, says vehicle cleaning is not only important for road safety – but also projects a good corporate image. He even claims both fuel and emissions can be reduced saying:"Excessive dirt adds weight and increases drag – both of which reduce fuel efficiency, leading to higher costs and more carbon emissions per mile." While that may be offset by using powerful, fuel-intensive pressure washers to keep vehicles clean, Nilfisk-ALTO's hot water machines use EcoPower boilers that deliver more than 92 per cent fuel efficiency.

Pressure washers for haulage and passenger transport operators include stationary Truck Booster hot water machines, with stainless steel construction and on-board detergent tanks.Customisable, the machines can remove all types of road dirt but are also used for cleaning lorry and van interiors. The three-phase Truck Booster 7-63D delivers up to 1,260 litres of water and hour at 100°C – with additional steam power at 140°C. Fuel consumption is an economical 5.6kg/h.

The range also includes hot or cold booster models for stationary use in covered areas. For smaller commercial vehicle applications, or for more flexibility, the company has Neptune (hot water) and Poseidon (cold) mobile machines in numerous specifications.
