Ironing out hospital laundry problems August 1st 2008 Flatwork was causing problems at
the laundry of St Joseph's Hospital
in South Wales.
The bulk of the work in the
Hospital laundry is bed linen,
theatre scrubs, paterient's gowns
and towels.While successful overall,
sheets were requiring several
passes through the roller and there
were still rejects becasue of
creasing.So hospital engineer Eddie
Miller researched the market,
comparing different manufacturers
ironing machines and visiting
numerous laundries before settling
on a LACO M500 from Armstrong.
Laundry supervisor, Pam Smith, is
delighted."It's a return feed model,
so everything is done from one
side.The work goes straight from
the washers with no tumble drying
so we make big energy savings,"
she says."Equally important, the
quality is excellent - we used to get
complaints from nursing staff and
now it's nothing but compliments." More articles from Armstrong Commercial Laundry Systems: |
