Scottish grain whisky producer North British Distillery has a large workforce engaged 24 hours a day, seven days a week,working to the high hygiene standards.

Every process worker has five sets of uniform and other executives also wear corporate clothing.

The company has now switched from using an outside contractor to operating its own on-premises laundry installed and supported by Armstrong Commercial Laundry Systems.

The laundry consists of a 10kg Primus washer extractor and a complementary Huebsch tumble dryer. It is operated by eight man crews working to a rota. "The results are excellent," says Graham Manson, engineering manager."In the two years we have operated the laundry we have never had the slightest problem and our maintenance contract with Armstrong gives us complete peace of mind."
