Cuffs of protection August 1st 2008 Ansell has added to its portfolio
of industrial gloves.Newcomer is
a long-cuff version of the singleuse
Touch N Tuff nitrile glove.
Ansell says chemical tests by an
independent agency have
demonstrated that the Touch N
Tuff offers superior protection
against chemical substances.
With its longer cuffs, the new
Touch N Tuff 92-605 will further
increase levels of protection.
According to the EU OSHA,16%
of European workers handle
hazardous products. Hazards
associated with chemical
exposure are multiple, ranging
from skin problems like allergies
and dermatitis through to
cancer, brain damage, asthma or
an adverse impact on fertility.To
increase protection against
these risks, the European Union
is making its legislation ever
tougher. In 2007 REACH
regulations gave the industry
greater responsibility to manage
the risks from chemicals and to
provide clear safety information.
Ansell says in trials by
Centexbel, a Belgian notified
body, tests measured the
resistance of the Touch N Tuff
glove and eleven competitors,
and confirmed no other singleuse
nitrile glove resists a greater
variety of industrial chemicals for
a longer period. Puncture
resistance is claimed as up to
four times higher than that of
similar neoprene or Natural
Rubber Latex (NRL) gloves. More articles from Ansell Healthcare Europe NV: |
