Free chemical consumption audit
April 1st 2009

Winterhalter Chemicals, the consumables division of Winterhalter, is offering chefs and caterers a free audit of their cleaning and hygiene consumption to enable savings.

The company says it has made 'great strides' in the last couple of years in technology that reduces energy consumption in its dishwasher and glass washer range. Energy+ (recycles the heat of washwater and the normally wasted steam), ReTemp (washes glasses at temperatures as low as 400C), and 'intelligent' rack and flight washers automatically switch off sections of the machine if they sense there are no items in that section.

The successful technology has has shifted the focus for potential savings from energy consumption to 'consumables' – chemicals, cleaning and hygiene agents and dosing/dispensing.

An audit can save money by ensuring that correct dosing levels are set for machines, and that the right operating procedures are followed.
