Contract means more time inside
October 1st 2004

For five years Sodexho has been responsible for cleaning the offices and public areas in the modern visits centre of Glasgows Barlinnie prison. Against fierce competition, it has again won the contract which, this time, includes office blocks within the prison itself.

Working within the secure area of the prison has not posed additional problems for Diane Raanes, the Sodexho Scotland general manager at Barlinnie. She comments Everyone is carefully security checked before they come to work here. However, now that we go inside the prison, everyone has to become more security aware. This is particularly important when taking items inside the secure area. Much of it is common sense and we gave had no incidents.

Meeting the prison challenge has earned the 15 members of Sodexho Scotland team a Special Team Effort recognition.
