April 1st 2006 The University of Portsmouth has appointed MacLellan International as its facilities service provider. The win includes the cleaning of 43 academic and administrative GraffitiHotline has launched a low cost portable DIY Graffiti Removal Kit for safe easy removal of graffiti written with spray paint or marker pens from non-porous surfaces.
According to the company it is designed for removing small-scale graffiti on tiles, metals, glass, plastics and some painted surfaces - which GraffitiHotline says accounts for half of all graffiti typically found in communal areas, street furniture and buildings.
The kit contains two different chemicals - one for each type of marking. Easy to follow instructions make removal a simple routine task for anyone, according to the company.
Packing 15 years graffiti experience into one box, all the ingredients are environmentally sound, 100% biodegradeable and neutralised by water.

The contract entails early morning and evening cleaning, 52 weeks of the year. It includes the School of Professionals Complimentary to Dentistry, which requires an extremely high standard of hygiene and cleaning. The 120-strong team have be 'TUPE-ed'over to MacLellan and will participate in a full induction programme about MacLellan prior to the start of the contract. The diverse nature of the workforce means macLellan will be producing information and training materials in numerous languages including Mandarin Chinese.
