Nationwide Hygiene Supplies delivering expectations February 1st 2009 Formed in 1986, Nationwide Hygiene Supplies Ltd was
established to service and develop National account business on
behalf of its shareholders. Those founding shareholders were
some of the most respected independent cleaning and hygiene
supply companies in the UK who recognised that the Janitorial market
required a national provider offering local supply service qualities. The
shareholders now number 17 throughout the UK, Channel Islands and
Ireland who between them operate 35 branch locations.
Over the years national account business has grown substantially
and in 2007 this resulted in the need to seek larger corporate offices.
After a thorough review of suitable locations in the East Midlands,
which had to have further scope for growth, a move to Chesterfield
was concluded and this will now provide an appropriate operating
centre for many years to come.
Chief Executive David Scholes said
"The Chesterfield move has provided
the opportunity to make important
customer led changes.We have
strengthened our staff, new ordering
systems, information technology,
sales and purchasing. In addition the
continual rise in turnover and the
increase in corporate accounts has
reconfirmed the decision to
reposition our headquarters. In total
the group has a combined turnover
of over 110 million pounds, 165
delivery vehicles and 154 field sales personnel. We supply products to
more than 67,000 customers who rely on a dedicated service and the
power that our international grouping brings on price and product
purchasing.
In 2004 Nationwide became a founder member and major
shareholder with Igefa GmbH (Germany & C. Europe), Groupo Heleo
(Spain) and Eurocom ( Italy) in a European Joint Venture Company
called INPACS GmbH.This JVC now has 7 shareholders who represent
Janitorial and Catering businesses throughout Europe, operating
from over 200 branches in 23 countries. The total group is managed
for International contracts from its offices in Berlin and has a
combined turnover of over €1.4 billion.
In recognising that similar like-minded entrepreneurial janitorial
and catering distributors operated in the USA it was a natural
progression that in 2006 INPACS GmbH should become a member of
the Network Services Corporation (NSC) in Chicago. NSC operate their
business in exactly the same way as Nationwide and INPACS through
their 400+ branch network producing a combined turnover of $10.8
billion.
The whole of the Nationwide ordering system is designed to make
life simple for our customers. All UK orders are centrally processed
through a single order point. We encourage customers to utilize the
Nationwide website www.nationwide-hygiene.com for ordering
where agreed product specific order templates can be accessed by
our clients from any location offering web connection. (management
controls are also available within the order processing activity as
required). Alternatively there is the Nationwide Traderlink option
which is a straightforward E-Procurement facility that enables you to

day quickly, accurately also with your own management controls as
required.
David Scholes said "At Nationwide we believe, as delivery costs for
businesses increase, that by being more efficient than our
competitors throughout the whole process we can save time and
money for our customers.
Ongoing Development
Network Services Company, now has a presence in Russia through its
relationship with Clean Master, a leading distributor of janitorial
supplies in Russia. Clean Master is based in Moscow with branches
in St. Petersburg and Samara. It serves more than 7,000 customers
and has sales of approximately $34 million (US).
In 2006, Network welcomed INPACS-a similar organization of
distributors serving most of the countries in Europe-as a member of
the Network organization. Clean Master recently signed an
association contract with Igefa, a distributor of hygiene and janitorial
products, that is part of INPACS.
INPACS also added two other distributors of janitorial products
that are among the market leaders in their countries-AS EBETA in
Estonia, and BG Ltd. in Latvia, further growing Network's global
presence.
"Our global relationships offer opportunities to share expertise and
increase our value to suppliers and customers by serving multi-national
corporations," says Bob Mitchum,
