No congestion charge? Nice one
December 1st 2007

An acronym for no internal combustion engine, the NICE Mega City Enterprise is an emission-free electric van that is exempt from road tax, the congestion charge and can park for free in a number of central London locations.

With 800 litres of load space, a 40mph top speed and typical 40 mile range, the van retails for under £9,000 and is exempt from VAT under commercial use.The company says electricity charges equate to 1.5p per mile.

NICE founder Evert Geurtsen previously spent over 20 years in the automotive industry, both at General Motors and as the commercial head of Lotus Engineering. The company also has a pick-up truck style delivery van, the Mega Multi Truck II (pictured below). See www.nicecarcompany.co.uk
