Wash and tumble for hospital mops June 1st 2008
When St Mary's Hospital on the Isle
of Wight decided to install an
efficient floor cleaning system to
minimise cross-infection risks,
Armstrong Commercial Laundry
Systems was asked to supply the
equipment that forms the
backbone of the system.
To minimise risk, every patient
room has its own mop which is
used for that room only.Offices,
clinics, corridors and public toilets
also have their own dedicated mop
or mops, with 30 to 40 in A&E alone.
The hospital carries enough
mops for two to three days. Each
mop is laundered every time it is
used and, when not in use, it is kept
and laundered in its own net bag.
Quiet and efficient, Primus
washer-extractors operate on the
infection control programme and
chemicals are delivered by an
automatic dosing system. More articles from Armstrong Commercial Laundry: |
