Concentrate on savings June 1st 2008
Concentrated chemicals and controlled dosing is good for
business and the environment, improving cost control, efficiency,
safety and cleaning performance says JohnsonDiversey
Premixed products are attractive to many users
because they are ready to use. But they can be
extremely wasteful in terms of cost per clean,
packaging and distribution.With concentrates water
is only added at the point of use. This eliminates the
need to transport water, reduces packaging and
maximises storage efficiency to minimise overall
supply chain costs. The chemical miles and carbon
footprint associated with cleaning are reduced
because, put simply, more concentrate is carried on
the same vehicle than with premixed products.
Manual dilution, for example using a pelican
pump, is better than using premixed products but is
still relatively wasteful because people tend to use
too much chemical when preparing each batch.
Accurate dosing – using portion or dilution control -
ensures the correct amount of chemical is used
every time to eliminate waste, optimise cleaning
performance and maximise economy.
One of the primary concerns about concentrates
is that chemicals which are completely safe when
diluted can be a potential hazard when undiluted.
JohnsonDiversey eliminates these concerns through
its range of products which remove the risk of users
coming into contact with chemicals.Colour coding
of products simplifies identification while special
connections ensure the correct products are used
with the right dispenser or dilution tool to improve
safety and eliminate the risk of cross-contamination.
The company's dosing control systems such as J-Flex,
TASKI Exact, Divermite and SafePack make it easy to
introduce concentrates for almost any application.
TASKI Exact offers a safe, user friendly and
environmental approach to daily cleaning with
concentrates. The latest additions to the range
include three new concentrates in non classified
formulations for daily cleaning. These Exact NC
products do not require hazard classification
labelling yet still give perfect results with the
guarantee of meeting the highest safety demands
and best possible costs in use.Classified products
can lead to extra cost associated with transport,
handling and storage but with Exact NC these are
avoided because no special precautions are needed
to use these non-dangerous goods. The new
formulations are compatible with existing Exact
dosing control equipment and have similar colour
codings and names for staff familiarity to minimise
retraining and disruption to operations. Each
product also has JohnsonDiversey's patented ONT
technology which neutralises nasty odours, rather
than simply masking them with perfume, for fresher,
cleaner environments.
Products such as the new Divermite Starter Pack
allow smaller companies to introduce controlled
dosing. It includes everything required for using
concentrated cleaning products in busy kitchens
and food preparation areas. The cost of an individual
trigger bottle or bowl of washing up can be as low
as 12p.The Starter Pack is ideal for smaller kitchens
and is initially available in two versions, one with
Suma D1 detergent for washing crockery, pots, pans
and cutlery and the other with Suma D10 detergent
for cleaning and sanitising worktops, equipment,
tools, cabinets and areas where food is stored or
prepared. More articles from JohnsonDiversey Equipment Ltd: |
