Brushes specifically for food preparation areas
August 1st 2004

The Hill Brush Company, manufacturers of Salmon Products, offers a comprehensive range of brushes and other cleaning equipment manufactured specifically to clean hygienically sensitive areas in food factories, dairies, catering establishments and hospitals

The products in this range have been constructed to comply with all existing EU regulations and the US Public Health Service Food Code 1993. The Hill Brush Company are also members of the European Brushware Federation Hygiene Charter. Salmon brushes are reliable, easy to clean and strong enough to repeatedly endure testing industrial conditions. Brush components are resistant to the solvents, chemicals and high temperatures required for disinfection.

The hygiene brushes include a range with special dual brush filament retention. Designed specifically for the hygiene industry where the security of the filaments is particularly important. The brushes are made with each tuft being first stapled into the brush back in the normal way and then epoxy resin is floated into a recess on the face of the brush, which covers the filaments and staples as it goes, resulting in a completely sealed brush face. This makes the chance of a filament pulling out extremely remote. In addition, the sealed face means that these brushes cannot accumulate dirt or moisture in the tuft holes. This method of brush filament retention is believed to be superior to all other methods. The photograph shows two specially made transparent demonstration brushes to explain the manufacturing process.

The range is also available in six colours to assist in the interdepartmental or food-type segregation required in the implementation of the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) Systems. Colour coding significantly reduces the chance of cross contamination.

The UK based Hill Brush Company, which received its Royal Warrant in 1981, produces more than 1000 standard lines as well as special bespoke products. Its hygiene range includes an extensive range, from sink and hand brushes to brooms, mops, buckets, and also warning signs.
